Collection Maintenance Department

The Collection Maintenance Department has numerous and varied responsibilities including:

• ensuring the orderly return of library materials to the regular shelves
• keeping the shelves in good order
• processing Search Requests
• disaster recovery
• monitoring environmental conditions
• making most signs and maps
• organizing shifts to distribute space evenly
• doing space analyses, studies, and planning
• providing support of various kinds to most other departments in the library

The department is run by the Collection Manager with help from twenty-nine student assistants during the school year and six to eight assistants during the summer.
